Being seventeen and growing up in one of the fast paste cities of America can be a big playground for teenagers. But with monarchs as parents it can become a locked up prison.
Lilly Long was once a teenager during the retro 80s time period. Catholic raised, she began her life with a list of natural rules that she had to follow. Her family was loyal to the church and made sure their daughter followed along. "Everyday was always like Sunday." The pressure of being the perfect daughter was hard and only getting harder as she began to explore the outsides of her own environment. "A child's life is reflected from his or hers parents teaching." Lilly's life was leading to a cycle that followed her own parents path, just one big circle that she didn't want to enter.
"The 80s was all about love and magic."
She couldn't feel the love attending an all girl school. " Catholic school was hell, full of stuck up tom boys."
The stuck up little brats that she couldn't bear to picture herself as.
Even though school was a nag. After school was a little bit of freedom. Working at a public library never seem so much as a night club.
"The college boys would come in and study with their shoe laces untied."
Even though the more walk-ins entering the library were old retired teachers, Lilly found her way to become "the temptation of the devil." as her mother would say.
But at first it didn't seem that way. No guy noticed her "I'm guessing the only reason guys or anyone would look at me was because of the thick sent of moth balls that linger all over my cloths."
Thanks to Vogue, she found her way using scissors as if it were a designer pinching pieces off the ugly old outfits she wore. Exposing what attracted the gentleman's.
"It was when I put on my mothers fresh red dark lipstick, that's when the guys could see the youth in me."
But the flirting became her secret happiness. Lilly found out that being sexy was fun but she couldn't seem to stop her crave.
But the craving extended to herself wanting more then just library hangout time. She wanted to go on dates.
Not just with any college kid, the most loudest one. Tucker Ward was his name the all American boy that she wanted to fall in love with. The guy that teen VOGUE told you to stay away from.
She did end up falling for him. Every time he would come in Lilly would look at her refection in the mirrors to see if her red lipstick was in no need of a retouch.
Until she dropped her mothers red lipstick in front of his boots.
"You dropped something honey." she smiled and grabbed the stolen red lipstick and walked away.
That's were the trouble happen. Weeks pasted but Lilly and Tucker couldn't lay off each-others eyes. Ever since that heaven sent mistake happen, the sparks were on.
"Was this love at first site or just a test from God?"
The talking between each other started, the laughing that interrupted the people who read books. As if Lilly didn't work there. As if Lilly forgot all about her morals and her parents. As if she was star stuck to a stranger. But tucker wasn't just a stranger he was her first date.
They went to a movies and she had her first kissed. This life that she was living was what she wanted. A boyfriend who she could spend her life with.
Notes were all over her room, the perfume of cotton candy was coming out from her door. She was glowing, feeling the power. To bad the parents didn't approve.
"Mother found my box full of tuckers notes. She was upset because I hid this life. She thought I was some prostitute. She wanted me to break up with him immediately!"
Lilly couldn't do that, after investing three months of magic with him.
She just didn't let go. Her mother took Lilly's keys and made her quit her job.
The rebel with nowhere to go. Until Tucker would sneak in her room at night.
The foolish mistake happen next. No Condoms and the hormones were on high.
They had sex, something that roman Catholics couldn't forgive.
A few weeks later her feelings become more insane. As if a baby was growing in her.
Lilly began to increase her belly size, and tucker was caught cheating.
She had no friends to go for help. Her parents would disown her if she dare to ask for a pregnancy test.
Lilly was pregnant, alone and foolish. Not knowing what or where to run to or what was going to happen next.
"How I wish I could run back to my parents cycle. I just wanted to drown myself with my own tears."
On the verge of giving up her own life, Lilly had to speak. She told the priest during confession one Wednesday and he encouraged her to tell her parents.
Lilly wrote her mother a note that explained the chaos she created.
"There I was seventeen and pregnant. Alone and in pain writing my mother a three page letter explaining how fooled I was."
Her mother cried, asking, screaming out "Why?" She had a thousand reasons why but she just stood in front of her mother with no response.
Her father soon couldn't take the hard news so the family split up. It seems like her life was going down hill.
Lilly had to leave the Catholic school and join the public school.
How she wasn't alone in public school. Lilly found about five different teenagers with the similar stories to how they joined the journey to motherhood.
She was aware about the long stop of time she would have to give up on her dreams to devote everything on her baby.
This was a problem she didn't want to see other teenagers to end up like her. Pregnant and useless.
"The boys lie threw their teeth just to get in silly wild girls pants."
Lilly over heard that as she walked halls of the public school Lamar High school.
